Our Process: Bright Bar Manufacturing
At RS Steel Industries, we make high-quality bright bars using advanced technology and strict quality checks. Our process ensures strong, smooth, and precise steel bars.
1. Raw Material Selection
We start by choosing the best steel ingots or billets. These are carefully processed by removing the top and bottom parts to make sure the bars have a uniform structure and better strength.
2. Hot Rolling and Heat Treatment
The steel is heated and rolled into bars of the required size. Based on the steel grade, we apply heat treatments like:
- Annealing: Softens the steel and improves its machinability.
- Normalizing: Makes the bars stronger and refines their structure.
- Stress Relieving: Reduces internal stress from rolling.
- Spheroidizing Annealing: Improves flexibility and makes the bars easier to work with.
3. Surface Cleaning: Shot Blasting
To remove rust and surface scales, we use shot blasting, where iron particles clean the bars. This makes the surface smooth, shiny, and ready for the next process.
4. Cold Drawing and Straightening
The bars then go through cold drawing, where they are pulled through a die to reach the exact size. This process makes the bars stronger and gives them a smooth surface.
For bars up to 100mm, we use cold drawing, followed by reeling and straightening to make sure they are even and straight.
- Cut-to-length bars made to fit your needs.
- Multiple lengths for different uses.
- Surface Inspection: We scan the entire bar for any cracks or defects.
- Material Check: We use X-ray testing to confirm the chemical makeup of the bars.
- Size Check: Each bar is measured with verniers and Go/No-Go gauges to ensure it is the right size.
- Ultrasonic Testing: To detect any hidden internal defects.
- Step-Down Testing: To check how the bars perform under pressure.
7. At R.S. Steel Industries, we have a fully equipped in-house lab with Rockwell and Brinell hardness testers and UTM for mechanical testing. A spectrometer for precise chemical composition analysis of all steel grades.
